Aorto-iliac arteries

Procedure

A duplex of the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries to identify, quantify and monitor any arterial disease. This includes atherosclerosis, aneurysms, graft and stent surveillance, and non-atherosclerotic disease identification.

Indications

Thigh and buttock claudication, absent femoral pulse, aneurysmal disease and other connective tissue disorders.

Evar surveillance

Procedure

A duplex of the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries including an endoluminal graft. This allows for monitoring of the aortic sac size, identifying any endoleaks and determining adequate flow through the graft limbs.

renal arteries

Procedure

A duplex of the renal arteries to identify and quantify any renal artery stenosis or aneurysm. Resistive indices within each kidney are also determined to assess parenchymal function.

Indications

Hypertension, renal artery stents, renal transplant monitoring, monitoring of aneurysmal and other connective tissue diseases.

Mesenteric arteries

Procedure

A duplex of the coeliac axis, superior mesenteric artery and inferior mesenteric artery to monitor for stenosis caused by atherosclerosis or extrinsic compression (commonly caused by the median arcuate ligament), as well as aneurysmal disease and dissection.

Indications

Post-prandial pain, monitoring of aneurysmal or other connective tissue diseases.

Abdominal veins

Procedure

A duplex of the inferior vena cava and iliac veins to identify thrombosis, as well as venous stasis due to extrinsic compression. The left renal and gonadal / ovarian veins may be included if indicated.

Indications

Pelvic congestion, varicose veins, lower limb swelling, Nutcracker syndrome, May-Thurner syndrome.
